A Chennai school and a century-old banyan tree
Lady Andal school aims to create holistic individuals by providing a happy atmosphere for children to thrive in. For this, the founder Correspondents envisioned a dynamic learning space with state – of – the – art facilities equipped with modern amenities. These thoughtfully designed areas encourage active learning, innovation and serve as social hubs – shaping character and getting students future ready. Prioritizing a green campus, our school is built around a 105-year-old banyan tree, a living symbol of resilience and interconnectedness. The building was designed to integrate the tree by surrounding it with classrooms, labs, an admin block, and a cafeteria through which the branches stretch, making it the centre of attraction. We also utilize rainwater harvesting and solar panels, making sustainability a part of the students' daily learning and aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development goals.
